FREE FARM DAY FOR CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS
Owner Emily was inspired to host these free farm days for children with special needs after seeing some remarkable interactions between the goats and special needs children who came with their parents to the farm to purchase a baby goat as a pet. The main life changing interaction was when, after a short time picking out a baby goat, a young autistic child started to play with Emily's niece and nephew who were also there for a visit. The parents started to cry, explaining that he'd never played with other children before - we were in shock. What an experience.
So Emily decided to start the free farm days to bring the chance to interact with the animals into more children's lives. And guess what - at our first event, it happened again! A non-verbal autistic child played with other children for the first time after spending time with the animals on our first farm day. Another mother in tears of joy. Needless to say, we have since held another day and we will be hosting more in the future!
Please contact us if you would like to donate, volunteer, or sponsor the event in any way! It takes a lot to throw this event so any help from the community would be most welcome!
